An Oregon native, Judie began her real estate career in 1993 with Hillier Associates, Inc. She has built a successful business by serving the needs of her client base that have used her services over the years in multiple transactions. Judie was attracted to the Pearl District in 1996 when she discovered the then unknown area known as the Hoyt Street Yards. Judie continues to enjoy the relationships she builds through her real estate contacts.  More...

The Evolution Of The Pearl District

Before the Lovejoy Ramp came down or mainstream even knew what the Pearl District was, Judie was passionate about the plans to "recycle" the barren rail yards into the revitalized and vibrant district it is today.

In 1996, the concepts of condominium living and mixed use communities were new to most Realtors®. At that time, the train that ran from the rail yard on 12th Avenue, through the current Pearl District, to the old Henry Weinhard Brewery on Burnside was still in operation. The first new construction, "Pearl Lofts", built by Pat Prendergast, in 1994, proved to be a cutting-edge concept that was awe inspiring. Those condos became the hot, new, "have to have" condos. It was unconceivable to Portlanders that prices would eventually average about $500 per square foot as they do today in 2007. No one could have envisioned the evolution of the Pearl District as it is today. The Pearl District is where Judie lives and works.
